Today, there is still opportunity to create, renovate, and improve, and it continues to be a very exciting time in real estate. @properties is my company because of their cutting edge marketing and service to me as your broker and you, my client. We have offices in the West Loop, Streeterville, Clybourn Corridor, Lakeview, Bucktown and...
After attending Francis W. Parker School in Lincoln Park, I broadened my vision of the world at the age of 16, and entered an international boarding school outside of New York City, where I was exposed to many different cultures, politics and where I developed my leadership skills. Next, tennis took me to Southern Methodist University in Dallas, where I graduated with a B.A. in English and a double minor in Business and French. After finishing there in 1982, I completed an exam for fluency in Business French at the local Chamber of Commerce. Unfortunately, while in a serious Recession, the French Banks were not hiring. That experience helped me to learn how to battle adversity and challenge.
I started my professional career in financial services, assisting three of Becker Warburg Paribas’ top retail securities brokers. I managed trades of many elite Chicagoans, learning the rhythms of the markets, as well as how to create an experience that is pleasing to clients. Here is where I learned the power of customer satisfaction as the key to success. So, my cumulative experience has given me insight into the value of customer satisfaction with an understanding of how to connect with savvy people about how best to invest their money for optimal growth potential. It is always my goal to employ my gift of foresight in my marketing plan as well. My experience left an effect as I continued to invest personally, using the skills that were well honed now. In 1995, I was the recipient of the Prognostication Award at Northern Trust Company’s Economic Forecasting Luncheon. I had the Dow Jones Industrial Average accurately predicted as well as the price of gold, one year out.
In 1987, after leaving Northern Trust Brokerage, I joined my family’s firm, Thrush Development Corp. Here, I learned quickly, and transferred my knowledge about customer satisfaction to real estate. My clients loved my honesty, integrity, and professional manner. I was authentic and clearly communicated the reality of the market that I knew they needed to understand in order to get their homes sold. I wore many hats including: oversight of sales at the Willow City Homes Development of 70 townhomes and 7 single family homes, as well as acting as Asst. Project Manager/Liaison to Superintendent to General Contractor. After this experience concluded, I represented Belgravia Group selling the Tamerlane project of townhomes on Greenview in Chicago. And while living in an urban loft renovated from a metal tubing factory, I became the President of my Condominium Board. I have extensive experience selling condominiums and cooperatives as well, and while living in Chicago became an expert at vintage/Victorian homes and 3 flats. My goal for all of my clients is to give you a realistic price for your home that reflects all current market trends and home specifications, so that it can effectively sell quickly and for the highest price that the market will bear. With sales in excess of $63,000,000, and over 213 properties sold, my success is proven.
In November of 1998, I founded Historic Lakefront Estates, in Evanston, a firm with a vision for exceeding customer expectation, while also offering experience-based knowledge of markets, and more specifically historic homes situated near Lake Michigan. Unfortunately, as life would have it, my run was interrupted by my then 7 year old son’s near fatal illness. He was diagnosed with Stage IV T Cell Non-Hodgkin’s Lymphoma. My family then took the spotlight and I redirected all of my energy to our health and wellbeing. To this day, that is what keeps me balanced and grateful. Now, I am rebuilding my niche market in Lakeshore Historic Homes in Chicago and the North Shore. 2012 is seeing the corner turn and I see great hopes for the future! As I expand my vision of possibilities, @properties has expanded its presence on the North Shore so that wherever I venture, I have the support that I need to serve my clients: Evanston, Winnetka, Highland Park and Lake Forest are our North Shore office locations. Our sales are outperforming the competition even though we are new to the area as a company. By following the strategy that worked in growing market share and becoming #1, @properties is quickly taking the lead in closed transactions this year in many villages on the North Shore.
Currently, I live with my husband of 18 years, and my three children in a historic home in Southeast Evanston. I enjoy gardening, tennis, biking and swimming, as well as managing my almost three teenage children. Life is unpredictable but I have learned that humor helps. I am working on my certification as a life coach and enjoy helping teens who are off track find their way. I never stop believing in the possibilities of what could be. I am also the daughter of two elderly parents in Lincoln Park.
""Blair is an incredible real estate broker and an incredible person. We hired Blair to find our first home in the City many years ago and then hired her to sell it 5 years later when we decided to move to the suburbs. The results on both ends were fabulous. She is an expert in locating and selling property in the City, and knowledgeable in all of the different neighborhoods. She is trustworthy, kind, and a pleasure to be around. She makes the real estate transaction seamless and effortless. Now that the kids are older, we may look for a place back in the City and wouldn't think about hiring anyone but Blair. You are in great hands with her." Top Qualities: Great Results, Expert, and High Integrity."

"I have known Blair for many years. She was tireless in our search for a home. I lost track of the number of homes we saw and she never tried to push us into making a decision. She also represented us in the sale of our condominium, which went quickly, in stark contrast to the time it took us to decide on a home. There were many units for sale at the same time but Blair managed to bring multiple bidders by highlighing the benefits of our unit. Blair is ethical and hard working. Top Qualities: Personable, Expert, and High Integrity."

"Blair impressed me with her thoughtful attention to detail, as she planned her marketing campaign for my home. As I was her first client at her new company that she founded, Historic Lakefront Estates, I saw that she had a clear vision of what she was creating. I appreciated her on-going communication and Blair's intelligent guidance as well as Blair's ability to position my home in the best light for a quick sale at the highest price the market would bear. After being on the market with another firm for over a year, I was very impressed with Blair's decisive strategic plan to get a multiple offer and sell it within the first 10 days of the listing. And the bonus was that she sold it for almost asking price as well! Blair was friendly, kind, thoughtful and showed me that she had a real passion for her business. I offer Blair my best wishes as she continues to exemplify the highest standards, integrity and caring for her client's best interests."
