Real estate is ‘all in the family’ for Jennifer Baron. Her father was a developer in Illinois in the 70’s - 80’s, and her mother was a realtor and interior designer. Eventually she followed her family’s success and entered the real estate market full time in 2002. Jennifer quickly achieved status as one of the top selling agents in Chicago and has sold over 45 million to date.
Before entering real estate, Jennifer graduated in 1987 from Columbia College Chicago with a degree in filmmaking. She worked in independent films, assistant directing, producing and production managing for 3 years before she broke into the ‘big picture world’, and spent the next 15 years as a location manager and scout for major motion pictures shot in and around Chicago. Some of her film credits include “High Fidelity”, “Ali”, “ Mad Dog & Glory”, “Flatliners”, “ Message in a Bottle”, and “Only The Lonely”.
Jennifer credits her background as a location manager and scout as having exceptionally prepared her for a career as a realtor in Chicago. Her knowledge of the city with its vast array of neighborhoods, and several surrounding suburbs, is beyond what most agents can offer. When Jennifer says she knows Chicago, she really is an expert!
Her management background is extensive. In movies she was responsible for helping directors not only choose the best locations for their films in Chicago, but then she was responsible for coordinating the filming to take place. Working closely with the Illinois and Chicago film offices, she secured filming permits, street closures, hired Chicago police, security, and worked with various other city departments, as well as local residents and business owners.
Today she brings that same hard work ethic to real estate every day guiding her buyer clients with the utmost care in finding the perfect home of their dreams. She is keen on helping her clients make smart investments in Chicago’s markets and facilitates the entire process of the transaction, from finding the best lender and financing options, to procuring quality inspectors, and top real estate attorneys, in order to create the best support team to lead each client toward a successful closing transaction. Jennifer also holds the ABR designation (Accredited Buyer Representative) as well as the National Association of Realtors Green designation.
Jennifer works closely with home sellers to help them determine the right price for the most optimal sale by providing a detailed comparative market analysis. An extra benefit to listing a home with Jennifer is that she is also an ASP Stager, and a member of the International Association of Home Stagers, founded by the creator of Home Staging, Barb Schwarz. Jennifer includes her creative Staging services as part of her marketing package to all her sellers to ensure that each showing makes the best possible first impression, and that the home stands out of the crowd of the competition to ensure that the home sells faster and for more money! Further, she coordinates the highest profile marketing in the industry through @Properties. Most importantly, she works diligently to assure that her sellers have a comfortable and successful experience in the sale of their home.
Now in her ninth year working as a real estate consultant, Jennifer is proud to be part of the @Properties team. She has been an award-winning agent each year of her business, having been recognized for her achievements by the Chicago Association of Realtors. She remains within the top 5% of realtors in Chicago in sales. Jennifer is very proud that she also has a long list of happy clients who graciously send her many referrals.
Jennifer has appeared in several real estate articles. She was interviewed for an article on Albany Park for the Chicago Tribune that appeared on the cover of the Real Estate section in 2004. Recently, she appeared in an article for Crain’s Chicago Business about Single women buyers in Chicago. She has also appeared in a public service announcement on television for CAPS in Chicago, which she works to support in her neighborhood. She is a firm believer in the power of community and encourages all her clients to get involved with CAPS, as well as with their local neighborhood associations.
Jennifer is a proud supporter of Habitat for Humanity and a hope builder since 1997. In her dreams, everyone has a place to call home! She has also been a regular supporter of Mercy Home for boys and girls, most proudly as a mentor to a young woman, through their “Friends First” program. She met her sister 15 years ago, who now has graduated from college and has a career in accounting. Jennifer is extremely proud of Natasha and they remain close still. Jennifer encourages everyone to consider being a mentor and believes there is nothing more rewarding. At Mercy Home, lives are not only saved, success stories are created!
Jennifer has lived joyously in Chicago for over 24 years. Loving everything there is about Chicago, she has lived in various parts of Lakeview, the Buena Vista Historic Neighborhood, Wicker Park, Irving Park, and now lives in her favorite neighborhood, Old Irving.
