Thaddeus Wong began his career in real estate sales in 1996 and quickly established himself as one of the most successful real estate agents in the city of Chicago. During the early years of his career, Wong personally recorded more than $300 million in real estate sales and earned three consecutive Golden Eagle Awards from the Chicago Association of Realtors as the top-producing sales agent among the association’s more than 17,000 members.
In 2000, Wong and his business partner, Michael Golden, co-founded @properties, and within the first three years, grew the company from a four-person, $40 million operation to a billion dollar enterprise recognized throughout Illinois. Behind Wong’s leadership, drive and vision, @properties has become Chicago’s fastest growing real estate brokerage firm and its largest independently owned brokerage. A highly energetic and creative entrepreneur, Wong is focused on implementing his and Golden’s vision for a real estate company that expertly serves both the resale and new-construction markets. He has personally overseen the opening of @properties’ five brokerage offices and the recruitment of more than 700 talented agents, as well as the launch of @properties’ Performance Coaching program, and its @commercial and @relocation divisions. He is also committed to expanding the company’s technology platform by establishing leading-edge internet and mobile marketing initiatives.
Wong is also one of the industry’s most trusted and valued resources for developers of residential real estate projects. He takes an active role in all facets of the development process, working closely with developers, architects, bankers and strategic partners to address project feasibility, product positioning, design, advertising, promotion and sales. Under Wong’s direction and leadership, the professionals of @properties have been responsible for well over $1.75 billion in new-construction sales, encompassing more than 5,000 units, ranging from single-family homes to the highly anticipated Chicago Spire.
Wong’s dedication to @properties, its agents, developers and clients is an integral part of the company’s success and a big reason why @properties posts one of the highest levels of sales volume per agent in Chicago real estate – even as the company continues its rapid growth. Some of @properties’ numerous industry accolades include: 2006 Inc. magazine “Inc. 500” list of the fastest-growing private companies in America (No. 341); 2007 and 2008 Inc. Magazine “Inc. 5,000” list; 2007 and 2008 Crain’s Chicago Business “Fast Fifty” list of the fastest-growing companies in Chicago; and 2008 Crain’s Chicago Business list of the largest privately-held companies in Chicago. In 2003, Wong was named one of Crain’s Chicago Business’ “40 Under 40”. In 2008, he and Golden were inducted into the Chicago Area Entrepreneurship Hall of Fame by the University of Illinois at Chicago’s Institute of Entrepreneurial Studies. Wong and Golden also received the 2008 Impact Award presented by the Lincoln Park Builders of Chicago.
@properties supports various foundations and charities including: Christopher House, Teen Living Programs, the AIDS Foundation of Chicago, the Y-Me Race Against Breast Cancer; and the annual @properties Bucktown 5K. In 2007 the company partnered with CARE to donate $40,000 to aid humanitarian efforts in the Darfur region of Sudan. In 2008 @properties also participated in Rebuilding Together.
Independently, Wong sits on the board of the National Foundation for Teaching Entrepreneurship (NFTE), participates in the Chicago Public Schools annual Principal for a Day program, is a member of the Eisenberg Foundation and participates in fundraisers and initiatives benefiting political campaigns, community programs, industry groups and health-related causes. Wong continues to be a sought-after participant, moderator or speaker for numerous panel discussions and forums held both inside and outside of Illinois, including the upcoming AIA 2009 National Convention and Design Exposition in San Francisco, Calif.
Wong resides in Lincoln Park with his wife, also a successful real estate agent, and their four children. |
