Only an expert can help you create the most value from your home investment.  Matt Hanssel is an expert in real estate.  His background began in 2001 with residential home remodeling, where he built strong partnerships with various construction trades.  Matt gained experience in residential and commercial property management, allowing him to expand his knowledge and services in commercial and residential leasing.  This ultimately led him to representing home buyers and sellers in their real estate endeavors.

Matt is passionate about helping others, and assisting them in achieving their real estate goals.  His genuine interest in learning about his clients, their interests and long-term dreams coupled with his patience and caring demeanor creates a relationship of trust between him and his clients. 

While growing up in Downers Grove, Illinois, Matt made regular visits to Chicago noting his appreciation of the city's diverse urban landscape.  He resided in the Bucktown and Wicker Park neighborhoods since 1998, while being a property owner and landlord for most of that time.  Matt lives with his wife, Laura, and son August, in their one hundred-year-old Downes Grove 4 square home, which they renovated in a contemporary style that is comfortable, while keeping its original charm.

Matt also sings in the church choir and is lead vocalist for a local garage band.  When he leaves the city limits it is usually to pursue his passions: camping, skiing and other outdoor activities and travel throughout the country and abroad.

Matt has a B.A. in Communication from Millikin University.  He and his family are long time volunteers of Misericordia on Chicago's north side and enjoy supporting Chicago's educational, arts and cultural institutions.
