Yale Zimmerman owned and managed Zimmerman Brush Co., a major manufacturer of industrial and cleaning brushes until 1998. The skills he learned there are invaluable for a career in Real Estate. Servicing a nationwide customer base of over 2,000 distributors, he learned the requirement that listening and follow through are the only ways to truly satisfy client’s needs. Other important attributes he developed are concern for detail, perseverance, and timely execution.
A warm and friendly person, Yale is always with a smile – upbeat, enthusiastic, and energetic. He earned a Master’s Degree from Washington University in St. Louis in Special Education and 13 years of teaching honed his patience and understanding. They also helped him perfect the ability to explain complex subjects simply and clearly.
Yale is a self-taught piano player and composer. He has toured the US, Philippines, Japan, and Hawaii as a professional with Donald Sutherland, Jane Fonda, and Country Joe McDonald. He was also a roommate with Ben Vereen! While playing piano might not be a direct part of Real Estate, creativity certainly is. Yale’s creative nature always finds ways to solve problems and overcome obstacles, making sure transactions close and that all parties have a positive outcome.
A lifelong Chicagoan, he and his wife are the proud parents of 11 children. (No kidding!) Volunteering is a big part of his life. Having been a counselor for many summers at Harand Camp of the Theater Arts in Wisconsin, he volunteers to help the Harand Camp Scholarship Fund. He graduated from Von Steuben High School and is now an active member of the board of the Von Steuben Alumni Association, which helps fund college scholarships for needy seniors. He was a founding member of Cheder Lubavitch Hebrew Day School in Skokie, its first Chairman of the Board and was a founding member of the Lubavitch Girls High School of Chicago.
