"We hired Craig three years ago to sell our house in Lincoln Square.  At the time, there were no comparable sales west of Western Ave for luxury homes over $1,000,000. Other established agents we met with told us to simply adjust our asking price lower - however, we felt the value was there for our asking price.  Craig advised us to refinish the floors, paint some of the natural oak trim, and professionally stage the property.  We were reluctant to spend the effort and money - but Craig emphasized that taking those steps would remove the objections that buyers would have, and enable us to come close to our asking price.  

One day just before going live on the market stands out: painters were finishing up in the morning, stagers were moving furniture in and setting up, and the photographer arrived as the stagers were leaving.  When the photographer was leaving, the first of three potential buyers were walking in the door for a preview look.

After eight days on the market, we had four initial offers, and three final offers - and sold for just $5,000 off of our asking price.

Craig knew he was competing for our business against seasoned agents.  He had the guts to recommend the right steps to get us to our price. The other agents did not pay attention to that, and simply tried to convince us to ask a lower price.  If you are looking for candid advice, in an experienced broker who will stay focused on your priorities, and keep working even after the first offer comes in - hire Craig."



"I found Craig through Angie's List based on his reviews. Craig was easy to get a hold of initially and throughout the entire process. He either picked up the phone or got back to me quickly even when he was on vacation.

After our initial meet and greet, we setup up a few appointments based on my inputs. The showings were well planned and refined each time based on our feedback. Craig asked many inquisitive questions to the seller agent and developers that were insightful and educated us on the buying process. We looked at condos, townhomes and houses and before we knew it, he found us a house that fit what we were looking for. It's a new construction house in Portage Park and we loved it.

During the initial meet and greet, we were just casually looking without any time constraints and before you know it we were going through the closing process. Met him in November, found a place in December, busy with paper work in January, closed in February and completely moved in by March. He helped out through a few obstacles and we are still in contact. The price was perfect since we were buying and we look forward to working with him in the future as both a buyer and seller agent.

"as a builder in chicago the the past 20 years i have worked with a number of real estate brokers. i hired craig to sell a 3 building is 16 years old, and has been a successful rental building, but the finishes were original when i built it in 1999,. craig bought 3 offers, one of which was in the right ballpark, and after some back and forth , i accepted one.

what i liked about craig is that he didn,t stop working at that point.
with the one offer in hand, he continued his efforts to bring another offer, which he did within a day or 2 of the one i accepted. this made me feel much more comfortable in my negotiations over inspection issues,and allowed us to have some leverage in my negotiating over inspection issues,and allowed us to have some leverage through the key inspection and attorney review stage.

in the end , we closed successfully on the first contract for $835,000.

"The only mistake I made in hiring Craig was not hiring him first. I originally listed with another broker until I realized the error of my ways. Craig is reliable, communicative, creative, proactive and an all-round nice guy. I owned a townhouse in a very old building that was not quite market-ready. Craig went beyond the call of duty by identifying the problems that could interfere with a sale, hiring the handyperson to fix them and being there to explain and oversee the work. After taking Craig's advice on what to do with our condo to get the best price possible (new counter tops, de-cluttering, new paint, the philosophy of only adding furnishings that we could take with us, and really giving the condo a "hip, sexy, west loop" feel), I contacted him a year later in March of 2014. "I contacted Craig based on a friend's recommendation, though she had used him to buy a home rather than sell one. Immediately, I was impressed by his enthusiasm and passion for his profession, plus his friendly and charming personality. He was knowledgeable from the get-go with regard to the neighborhood market, and I appreciated his honesty when evaluating my condo's value and what he believed was necessary to create an ideal first impression. Not much needed to be done because I had basically completely remodeled and updated my condo upon buying it, and I kept it very clean. I'l admit that I was a bit ambitious with what I thought I could get for my condo, but he agreed to list it higher than what he suggested, without hesitation (granted, we weren't that, far apart). And, he was never pushy or eager to just make a quick sale and move on; he put my wishes first. He treated me like a person, not just a potential sale.I had a steady flow of traffic through my home, and while I wish there was more, I blame the market and neighborhood, not Craig's efforts; my place was listed everywhere, and he constantly pushed it upon potential buyers. I eventually agreed to a sales price a bit lower than what I was hoping for (but still higher than I bought it for, which most people nowadays would be happy with). While I was disappointed at the time, looking back, I'm happy I got out when I did; the market over there doesn't seem to have improved all that much, and now I'm sure I most likely couldn't have gotten a better price if I hired someone other than Craig.It's one thing to recommended his services to you strangers reading this, but just so you know, I had recommended him to a friend of mine as well. He asked probing questions to gauge our interests, experiences and expectations. We were first time buyers and wanted a multi-unit building, rather than a condo or single family home.
