My specialty is helping people buy and sell condos, single family homes and multi-unit investment properties.
The City of Chicago is my focus. In addition to my Bucktown neighborhood, I'm active in Andersonville, Edgewater, Gold Coast, River North, Lakeview, Lincoln Square, Logan Square, the Loop including the South and West Loop, North Center, Uptown, West Town, Wicker Park. I also work in other neighborhoods including adjacent suburbs and the North Shore.
My real estate career began in 1996 after homebuilding and a sales management and marketing career with well-known residential building material manufacturers. Chicago's dynamic and innovative @properties has been my real estate home since 2007. My career sales exceed $150,000,000.
Nearly all of my business is by referral. My mission is to facilitate a sucessful purchase or sale in the most professional, smooth and enjoyable way possible. Clients' interests are always my primary concern--both during the transaction and well as after everyone leaves the closing table. My philosphy has always been "clients are for life, not a transaction" and, as a result, clients often engage my services multiple times as well as refer their friends.
Moving can be stressful, but my preferred team of professionals and service providers help make buying or selling go smoothly. Clients often tap into my team of attorneys, lenders, contractors, handymen, painters, landscapers, plumbers, HVAC contractors etc. even long after their transactions are complete. I personally know like-minded Realtors across the US and Canada, so clients have access to stellar real estate services outside the Chicago area.
Northwest Ohio is where I grew up and I and graduated from Miami University (Ohio) with a BS in Business Administration. Chicago has been home since 1987. When not selling real estate, my hobbies include extensive travel, the outdoors, sailing, music and architecture. Bucktown is my current home and neighborhood, although I have lived in

Clients are saying:
"I highly recommend Fred Carmean. He helped me both buy and sell a condo in the Lakeview area. I had never bought a home in a city setting and he was a wealth of knowledge on all the things to consider when purchasing a home in a city. He also kept me well informed of all the similarities and differences during the closing process between home buying and selling in the city verses the suburbs.
Fred will go the extra mile for you. I was selling the condo during Covid. The unit was empty for a little while and Fred went there to check on it every week. He had sound advice during an unprecedented time to sell and in the end the condo sold for asking price.
Fred is also very personable which makes the time spent with him enjoyable."
