Greer Haseman has spent 30 years honing her Real Estate expertise with special emphasis on the luxury market in Oak Park and River Forest.
Greer’s extensive real estate sales and marketing experience is augmented by her past financial services background as an investigator and market analyst for the CBOE and an Account Executive with PaineWebber Securities, now UBS. Greer, a Certified Luxury Home Marketing Specialist (CLHMS), an Accredited Buyer Representative (ABR) and a certified e-Pro marketer uses the tools of technology to create an interaction even as the media world continues to fragment. Greer has been a trusted advisor and multi-million dollar producing Broker-Realtor in the Oak Park & River Forest market, often achieving the highpoint in pricing in both communities.
Greer is a thought-leader in the industry, and is often quoted by the media regarding trends in real estate. She has been interviewed in Crain’s and Chicago Magazine and many of her luxury listings have been featured in those publications as well as on the Channel 5 news.
Greer readily admits her philosophy has changed as the business has evolved. She knows if knowledge is a thirst quencher, technology has changed the straw to a fire hose, often not satisfying one’s thirst. “It’s imperative that my clients have enough information to make an informed decision, but it’s also my obligation to help them harness the overload so they feel they have an authentic connection, which leads to positive results”. Greer knows first hand that “the devil is in the details”, and she prides herself in her ability to manage and execute the critical details of her client’s transactions from start to finish.
Greer has aligned herself with the @properties brand, as they are a proven market leader in innovation. Their high-energy approach and their first-class marketing platform appeal to her on every level. The tools available to her at @properties, both on the selling and buying side of the transaction, are second to none.
Greer enjoys a stellar reputation in the Oak Park River Forest real estate community. To leverage that, and to maximize the potential of her growing real estate practice, Greer decided to look for a partner. She found that person in former client, Patty Reilly-Murphy. Patty brings her considerable talents to the residential real estate industry by way of broadcast sales/management. Having spent the last 30 years at CBS Radio, specifically, legendary rock station WXRT. Greer knows that Patty’s outside-of-the-box thinking brings an added dimension to her business. Patty’s expertise in multi-platform marketing strategy and identifying trends in media and consumer behavior, dovetails perfectly with Greer’s unparalleled knowledge of buying and selling real estate in this distinctive market.
An Oak Park native, Greer knows that architecture is an important part of what unifies a community. The historic nature and diversity in housing stock in the area are of special interest to her, as her childhood home is on Forest Avenue, in the heart of the Frank Lloyd Wright Prairie School of Architecture Historic District.
She and her husband Carl, an advertising executive, are the parents of three creative young adult children who, while they now live far and wide, all enjoyed growing up in the village. On a recent trip home, her youngest commented on how much she loved growing up in Oak Park and that she hoped to move back one day. Greer and her husband proudly restored one of River Forest’s finest painted ladies. They are now challenging their creativity with a “Metropolitan Home” redo of a classic mid-century home in Oak Park.
Greer is a former Board of Director for the Oak Park Regional Housing Center and is a supporter of its ongoing mission of promoting diversity. Additionally, she serves the Realtor community on the Ethics and Arbitration Committees. She was awarded the Oak Park Area Association of Realtors, Realtor of the Year Award in 2011 and has been consistently nominated by her clients to receive the 5 Star Real Estate Award. Recipients of this award are highlighted in the October issue of Chicago Magazine each year.
Greer is an avid environmentalist and animal rights advocate with a deep appreciation for the great outdoors. She tries to string a few days together here and there so she can enjoy a bit of skiing--both water and snow. A huge Blackhawks fan, she can often be found cheering them on at a local watering hole with her childhood friends from Holmes School and OPRF. She treasures those long-standing friendships--to her, they are the foundation of what made growing up in Oak Park and River Forest so very special.

Patty Reilly-Murphy brings her considerable talents to the residential real estate industry by way of broadcast sales/management. Having spent 30+ years at CBS Radio—specifically, legendary rock station WXRT—Patty is considered by most to be the consummate sales professional. An industry leader, Patty is best known for her keen negotiating skills, instinctive marketing acumen, and outside-of-the-box thinking. Expert at conceiving & implementing multi-platform marketing strategy, Patty understands consumer behavior and knows how to adapt to changing market environments. She is a results-driven solutions provider who has helped clients of all shapes and sizes successfully achieve their goals.
Patty understands that buying or selling a home is one of the most important decisions you will make in your lifetime. Your home will provide the setting for the story of your family; it also sets the stage for your financial health and well-being. Patty takes the responsibility of advising you in either the purchase or sale of your home very seriously. She understands that this is all about you.
The Greek Philosopher Epictetus told us that “We have two ears and one mouth so that we can listen twice as much as we speak.” Patty knows that sales professionals who serve their clients best are those who know how to listen, and—with no offense to Epictetus—she believes that we need to use more than our ears to be a good listener. Good listeners have razor-sharp powers of observation; they know how to read between the lines. Patty knows that the best sales professionals are the ones who constantly (speaking of ears) have theirs to the ground. They anticipate and understand trends. They know what makes people tick--and they put that knowledge to work for you.
A native of Chicago’s north side, Patty and her husband Ron made the move to Oak Park in 1984 when they were expecting their first child. Patty believes nobody finds themselves living in the Oak Park/River Forest area accidentally. It is a deliberate decision. “It was very important to us that we raise our children in a diverse and cultured community. We wanted them to be exposed to people from all walks of life and to develop a real-world understanding of society. Proximity to the city was also of utmost importance to us.” She has not for one day regretted their move. “I remember feeling completely validated when our oldest son came home from college at Thanksgiving of his freshman year, and thanked us for raising him in Oak Park. Subsequently, his two younger siblings did the same thing. They realized that they were raised differently, sheltered less, and were more independent than most of the other kids they had met in the dorms.”
Patty is deeply committed to the communities in which she lives, and is excited to indulge her love of marketing, real estate and architecture by selling for @properties in Oak Park. “I have always loved real estate. I’m the one who always tracked the listings and watched market trends. So when Greer Haseman approached me with the opportunity to be her partner, I jumped at it. I’m thrilled to have the opportunity to work with someone as knowledgeable and well-respected as Greer, and to turn my passion for real estate—and for the communities of Oak Park/River Forest/Forest Park—into a career.”
The Oak Park/River Forest area is home to many real estate firms, so when faced with the decision on which company to work for, Patty & Greer did their due-diligence. “I am first and foremost, a marketer, which is why I’m attracted to real estate in the first place. Real estate is a marketing business and @properties does it better than anybody else out there. In today’s world, consumer media consumption habits change with lightning speed. It is critical to be aware of this, to know how to cut through the clutter, and to stay ahead of the curve. And that’s exactly what @properties does—they are forward thinking and always on the lookout for the next thing. It is clear to both Greer and me that at @properties, we will be equipped with the latest tools in order to most effectively serve our clients and ensure a successful outcome.”
In her spare time, Patty dabbles in interior design, and enjoys yoga, music, & entertaining. Nothing makes her happier than having a house filled with friends and family—except maybe going to see live music. She is often spotted at FitzGerald’s.
