Northbrook Real Estate Agent - John Fernitz
I believe that having spent over 25 years in the financial industry has enabled me the ability to bring to my clients a deep understanding of the financial aspect of residential real estate. I also consider myself to be an expert in providing comprehensive financial data and interpretation of housing market trends through technical analysis. These attributes cumulate in an in-depth knowledge and expertise in the field of residential home sales.
I am also a lifelong Northbrook resident and I have served the community in many capacities over the years. I look forward to sharing my enthusiasm of my hometown with buyers and sellers alike, as I am committed to the highest level of customer service, evidenced by honesty, integrity and excellent communication.
To date, I have represented my clients and closed on transactions on both the
buy-side and listing side for:
Single Family Homes, Condos, Co-Op Condos, Land, Rentals, & Townhouse
in the following towns:
I consider myself to be one of the lucky ones who has lived in Northbrook his entire life. It's true. My life started in 1965 over on Crabtree Lane, and I have been here ever since.
It is actually amazing how many of my friends and family have stayed to raise their own families here in Northbrook, just like me. Then again, when you think about all of the amenities that Northbrook has to offer for you and your children, maybe it isn't that unusual.
Northbrook has so many wonderful attributes; it's educational system, the award winning park district, the library, the arts, it's historic sports teams and figures as well as it's top notch facilities, just to name a few.
But it isn't just the facilities that the town has to offer, it is the community and the people that make it so great. The tireless effort as volunteers for all types of activities is overwhelming. It is your neighbors, friends, and families that offer to coach, set up block parties, or help out on the 4th of July that make this town so special. I too have done my share of volunteering by coaching everything from boys high school water polo, to children co-ed soccer, to most recently, the NGSA where I coached 2 different teams that my daughters played on last spring.
Having attended Meadowbrook Elementary, Northbrook Junior High, Glenbrook North, and St. Norbert (the same path that my 3 daughters are taking) along with living in Northbrook my whole life has helped me create and enormous web of family and friends in the area, both old and new. I often get to run into old high school friends when they come back to Northbrook to visit their parents who are still living here. I enjoy taking 25 minutes to buy a gallon of milk at Sunset Foods because I ran into an old coach, my brother's neighbor, and an old friend of my parents.
Living in Northbrook gives me the opportunity to share with my own children the experiences that I got to have as a youth growing up here. Jumping on your bike to go to the Village Green to watch a family member or friend play baseball or 16" softball; taking my kids fishing or golfing at the old Anetsberger property; enjoying the changing of the seasons by walking the trails of the forest preserve; relaxing on a warm summer night at the velodrome; watching a family friend or neighbor shine on stage during a performance at GBN.
I still am filled with pride when I think about that historic 1972 olympic speed skating team as well as all of the other great athletes with Northbrook roots. I still bleed green and gold.
Having been a lifelong resident of Northbrook, I can't imagine raising my family any other way. The town of Northbrook isn't just where I live. Northbrook is my home.
