My career in Real Estate formally began in the field of inspection and engineering serving the private sector of the Chicago Land area in the late 1980's. My niche was primarily in the field of inspection and investor consultation which included the commercial and private sectors of the greater metropolitan Chicago Land area. We provided a hands-on approach which offered due diligence, maintenance and engineering consultation, as well as project and construction management for both residential and commercially diverse zoning / mixed use developments. These endeavors were from the vantage point of facility and property oversight, due diligence, and site management. This suite of services was provided almost exclusively to investors and developers of these unique Real Estate related projects. This background really set the table for my foray into Real Estate as a Michigan licensed Realtor in 2005 and of late the advent of The Kaufman Group.
The term highest and best use is seldom spoken as such, but it lies at the heart of every real estate investment. It defines the unrealized potential that a property holds and it is within this realm that defines just how The Kaufman Group is unique. Our relationship does not end at the close of escrow nor does it begin with the search for the perfect property. Rather it is forged with a very simple concept: " What is most important to you, our client?" Keeping this at the forefront of our efforts is how we build enduring relationships and this is what is most important to The Kaufman Group.
Our objective is to provide a concierge based approach to both buyers and sellers of real estate with a focus on consultation, investment strategies, engineering, and planning and development. This focus will include primary residential, vacation and luxury homes, large open tract estates and agricultural parcels, as well as both residential and commercial development. We consistently deliver a very high level of personal service, marketing knowledge, and offer more than 25 years of consultative, engineering, and construction and project management experience.
I hope that you find our approach refreshing and insightful and encourage you to share our site and resources.

Like many in the field of Real Estate, Renny's professional career began in a much different arena. Renny graduated from The Ohio Institute of Photography and has served over 28 years as a professional photographer, stylist, and project coordinator. The projects have ranged from catalog and table top styling to product and subject portraiture in many different locales throughout the Midwest.
The years of visual experience and marketing made for the perfect segue into Real Estate as they share many common traits that are vital to successfully marketing homes and client representation. Client confidence, vision, and the ability to keep the entire transaction in focus are just a few of these dovetailed traits.
I feel it equally important to balance our careers with our passions and as such, I am very proud to volunteer my time and services for Homeward Bound Animal Welfare Group which is a Mishawaka- based foster and rescue organization. www.homewardboundawg.com. As well as The Michiana Humane Society. www.michianahumanesociety.org I look forward to helping you find that perfect home and, when you are ready, the perfect pet to share it with!

Rebecca Labis joined the Kaufman Group in November of 2019 and has lived most of her life in the great state of Michigan. She was raised in an area near Detroit and relocated to Southwest Michigan where she presently lives with her husband and two daughters.
As a young lady she developed a love for architecture and unique homes often 'borrowing" her grandmother's Architectural Digest and Interiors magazines to learn all she could about the various different types and styles of design and construction. This gathered knowledge led to her becoming the pivot point for her friends and family in their house hunting efforts and was the planted seed of her personal interest in entering the market as a real estate professional. After buying a home and selling a personal property with The Kaufman Group and @properties a desire was sparked to pursue her dream of having a career that dovetailed her passion for architectural design and helping people find their way home.
Rebecca likes to spend her free time with her husband, their two daughters, two cats and her dog Max. Together they enjoy all that Southwest Michigan has to offer. She is also very proud to be a volunteer and foster home serving as the Intake Manager for Specialty Purebred Cat Rescue (SPCR)
