Mark is a full-time buyer realtor who loves the thrill of the hunt. Whether you're a first-time home buyer, downsizing, upsizing or looking for an investment property, Mark has boundless energy for the home shopping process and will bring his analytical skills, DIY project experience and passion for real estate to assist you in your purchase. Are you wanting to take on a fixer-upper? Mark has experience with numerous projects including complete kitchen and bathroom rehabs, refinishing/installing wood floors, removing load-bearing walls to create an "open concept," just to name a few. Mark joined the DWD team in early 2018 because, as he says, "the collective knowledge and experience of the team is so much greater than any one individual." He will leverage that team strength to help you find your next home!
Mark is not originally from this area. In fact, he grew up in northern California and after high school moved to Honolulu, Hawaii. It was his plan to build his business and life in Honolulu, but he came out to this area on a whim; met his beautiful wife, and the rest – as they say – is history. He is often asked, "Honolulu? Why are you here?!" He would tell you "I love the Midwest culture; these are hard-working, educated people, and I've made deep friendships here." He and Laura have lived in Arlington Heights since 2002.
In his spare time, you'll find him outdoors... enjoying a Cubs game, walking his three beagles, gardening, tending his landscaping, spending time with neighbors.
"Real Estate cannot be lost or stolen, nor can it be carried away. Purchased with common sense, paid for in full, and managed with reasonable care, it is about the safest investment in the world."
~ Franklin D. Roosevelt

Joanne Patience has been a Realtor® since 2003. Her Real Estate background is a well-rounded, experienced and knowledgeable of real estate from traditional to bank-owned transactions.
Her philosophy is based on the famous quote by Vivian Greene
"Life isn't about waiting for the storm to pass. It's about learning how to dance in the rain"
Joanne says Real Estate is similar; there are challenges sometimes to overcome. What is important to Joanne is not about how quickly her clients can buy or sell, but it's about accomplishing their goals. A vital step in life planning. Purchasing and selling a home is an important decision – it ends a chapter and begins another. You are not just buying a house, but you are building a home filled with love and memories.
With her experience it enables Joanne to understand your hopes, dreams, and emotions that you will go through during the process of selling or purchasing a home. She will look, in detail, what is happening in your immediate area to determine the best market position for your home. You are provided additional professional services, and not the standard 3Ps (Put a Sign in Yard, Put a Lock Box on and Put your Home in the MLS), when it comes to marketing a home for sale.
You will find Joanne to be caring, compassionate, committed, innovative, and honest. Joanne builds trust with her clients by educating them as their guide and resource through the home selling and buying process. She provides solid experience and knowledge to her clients, who need to understand all the nuances of buying and selling their home. Joanne's clients can understand every step of the process. And all done with integrity, humor and compassion.
Joanne has resided in Palatine since 1997. Married with two teenagers and the family dog named Dunkin. She has been involved in community events-a sponsor for the Salt Creek Park, Palatine High Schools Varsity Poms Team and Dance Competition (District 211) and Palatine's Girls Nite on the Town (2019). One of Joanne's passion is dogs – she volunteers and supports a non-for-profit rescue- Fetching Tails Foundation a foster-based rescue. In her spare time, Joanne enjoys running, working out, biking, hiking and wine tasting.
Remember–With Patience, Anything is Possible.
