With 3 decades of experience in real estate and securities trading, beginning his career at the Chicago Board Options Exchange with Merrill Lynch, Christopher Moran has worked on Wall St with a NYSE Specialist as an options trader using a proprietary model based on Black Scholes, and as a Market Maker and Member of the CBOE, and today is a Licensed Real Estate Broker in Illinois and Wisconsin, and currently a member of the Chicago Association of Realtors and the National Assocoiation of Realtors.
Chris has also run a small general contracting company with a focus on restoration and remodelling of existing homes in Chicago and the North Shore. The company prepared homes for Realtor clients prior to listing. The company also contracted with several commercial property interests including companies such as Swedish Covenant Galter Life Center, Searle, LaSalle Partners, Kraft and ARA. Noticing that his company was also being called directly by homeowners looking to make improvments to prepare their home for sale he saw an opportunity to refer these customers to his Realtor clients. On the advice of a couple of Winnetka Realtors Chris became licensed to practice real estate brokerage and joined the Winnetka office of Kahn Manniere.
As a rookie Realtor in the Winnetka market Chris received training from a group of the most talented and productive people in the business. He has experience with multifamily, rental property management and uses his experience as a GC to serve clients with investment properties. With a background in economics and markets, an interest in architecture and construction technology, a trader's perspective on markets and a carpenter's eye for detail, real estate presents opportunities and challenges to bring thoughtful strategies and solutions to the transaction.
Chris has developed an expertise in the acquisition of development opportunities, especially lots for new homes in New Trier Township and development in Chicago. In 2004 the Chicago Zoning Ordinance had its first major revision in 50 years. Jack Guthman, an attourney from Schlefsky was the principal author of the new code, lead a day long work shop for a group of brokers. Among the speakers were Ed Kus, deputy commisioner of the Planning Department and Larry Okrent of Okrent Associates. A presentation outlined the major changes and how they will be applied.
He has been a featured speaker at a bank sponsored symposium on the outlook for new homes sales and quoted in the media. He is the author of the Winnetka Benchmark Report, a detailed analysis of the market for new, and recently built homes in several North Shore villages. His research and analysis of the market for new condos in Chicago has been sought out by developers and mezzanine lenders.
Chris is married to Maureen Brady Moran and they have 2 daughters attending St Louis University and DePaul University. Chris is a graduate of Loyola Academy and attended Northwestern University. Maureen is a Member of the Faculty at the Feinberg School of Medicine at Northwestern University.

Marketing our 1920s-era Winnetka home for renovation or rebuilding, he added creative, innovative strategies to his deep knowledge of local real estate trends, made available to us through his constantly updated marketing reports. In addition, Chris's resources extend beyond himself to his endless list of contacts in related areas, such as architecture, remodeling, and new construction.
