About Me

Jason Merel is a great guy to have on your team when you are buying or selling a house. Jason is relentless in his quest to get the deal done, and to get it done right. He has an absolutely amazing amount of energy, and will work, work, work till he finds a way to get the job done. I have done a number of deals with Jason as the cooperating broker, and each time he was not only a pleasure to work with, but the one guy who never lost sight of the client's ultimate goal. I have even used Jason myself as a listing broker, and was more than satisfied with his service and his commitment. Jason Merel combines his love for the real estate industry with his passion for education.

He is an active broker with @Properties and represents buyers and sellers on a day-to-day basis, and considers education of his clients an important part of his role as a REALTOR®. Bringing extensive knowledge and experience of the real estate market, Jason offers his clients an outstanding level of service. Honesty and integrity are two characteristics that have helped Jason build a business of repeat clients and referrals. He has negotiated tens of millions of dollars of real estate in Chicago and the suburbs and was given the honor of being a Five Star Professional in Chicago Magazine in 2015. Jason specializes in helping people making a local move selling their current home and purchasing another, but loves working with first time buyers as well! While the process can be stressful, Jason focuses on making the transition as smooth and stress free as possible by educating his clients and meeting their needs.

Jason recently teamed up with Elizabeth Caya, a veteran real estate broker, and they are known as the Merel Caya Real Estate Group. Their attention to detail, responsiveness, and knowledge of the market has been wonderful for clients and their business is growing by leaps and bounds.

Before getting into the real estate business in 2003, Jason previously taught social studies at Jahn Elementary, Carter G. Woodson Middle School, and Nettelhorst Elementary School. There, he coached the Debate Team, ran Student Council, and helped raise tens of thousands of dollars for charities like the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society and class trips to St. Louis and Washington, D.C. This passion for teaching generously applies to working with clients and his patience, careful attention to detail, and problem-solving skills have translated nicely into helping clients buy and sell millions of dollars of properties.

When Jason is not selling real estate, he enjoys spending time with his wife, Annie, and 3 children, Lyla, Noah, and Logan. He loves cheering on his Wisconsin Badgers, and plays intramural sports, like soccer and bowling. He enjoys reading, attending concerts as often as possible, loudly encouraging his kids at their respective sporting events, and hopes at some point to build a robot and participate in Battlebots with his kids - they're all obsessed!
