Agent Spotlight: Tiffany Moret

For Tiffany Moret, the real estate bug started with a desire to learn the ins and outs of the commercial side of the industry. Little did she know that her curiosity would turn into a full-time career in residential real estate.

With a passion for helping others and making long-lasting connections, Tiffany’s background as a restaurant owner was the perfect segue into her career as a real estate broker.

At Home with Tiffany Moret

@properties: How do you start each day?
Tiffany: I do some sort of physical or mental exercise and then I eat breakfast. I enjoy pilates, barre, and boxing. My favorite breakfast is poached eggs, bacon, and avocado.

I believe that breakfast is the most important meal of the day (as well as my favorite).

@properties: Describe your own first home.
Tiffany: I bought a 1 bed/1 bath vintage condo in Lincoln Park. It was one of only two properties that I toured and I called it home for 11 years. It was a top floor unit with southern and western exposures, and it was very homey and perfect for entertaining.

@properties: What is the first big-ticket item you bought when you moved into your current home and why?
Tiffany: A farmhouse table and tufted bench! I love to entertain and my lofty space was begging for a huge table with tons of seating for all of my friends and family to gather.

At Play with Tiffany Moret

@properties: What do you love most about Bucktown?
Tiffany: The proximity to my family. My twin sister and her family are just a 4-minute walk from my house…we live on the same street. We definitely take advantage of all of the great restaurants within walking distance.

@properties: Where is your favorite local restaurant?
Tiffany: This will be of no surprise to many…Small Cheval! It is the halfway meeting point between my sister’s house and mine; we eat there more than I would like to admit! Hands down the best burger in the city.

@properties: You have a full free day in your town with no obligations & cost is no object. What would you do?
Tiffany: A full spa day at the Waldorf followed by a dinner at Bavette’s.

@properties: What is your proudest achievement to date?
Tiffany: Receiving my Rolex in 2016! It was a great sense of accomplishment and set the bar for future achievements.

At Work with Tiffany Moret

@properties: How did you decide that real estate was the right career for you?
Tiffany: I initially got licensed to understand the ins and outs of commercial real estate. Once I started dabbling in residential real estate…I was in love!

@properties: How did your previous experiences prepare you for real estate?
Tiffany: I owned a neighborhood tavern in Lincoln Park. I have always been a people person…socializing comes naturally!

Owning a local establishment allowed me to cultivate strong relationships with the neighbors, vendors, and regulars. They ultimately became the base of my clientele.

I sold everything from first condos to my wine and liquor reps, to single-family homes to the regulars who lived down the street. It was a fabulous base that led to consistent referrals and lifelong clients.

@properties: What is your favorite part of the job?
Tiffany: I call it the “Ah-Ha” moment. It is when a client walks into a place and realizes that it is the perfect place for them.

They don’t have to say a word…it’s written all over their face. It’s an amazing moment!

@properties: What is one thing you literally could not do your job without and why?
Tiffany: My assistant, Sydney! She is my right (and sometimes left) hand. Her biggest task is keeping me organized.

She has found a method to my madness and keeps my business flowing smoothly!

@properties: Tell us the craziest thing that has ever happened to you on the job.
Tiffany: There is no PG version to describe what I saw. I was just glad that I walked into the bedroom before my client and her mom.

@properties: What is the best advice you’ve ever been given?
Tiffany: Set expectations and follow processes. (And…hire a full-time assistant)

@properties: What is one piece of advice you’d give to a new real estate agent?
Tiffany: I would find a top producer to work for and absorb all of the knowledge they have to offer!
