There are three things close to @properties broker Christie Ascione’s heart: her kids, the beach, and real estate. If you ask us, we think that’s a pretty sound trifecta of greatness.
From Times Square to spin class, get to know Christie in this week’s Agent Spotlight. That said, we’re not responsible for any mouthwatering that may occur when discussing pancakes & pizza. Read at your own risk!
@properties: How did you land in a real estate career?
Previous to real estate, I worked for the Viacom Corporation at MTV in NYC Times Square. I worked in on-air promotions and worked on big events such as The Video Music Awards.
@: What is your favorite part of working in real estate?
My favorite part of working in real estate is obviously finding the perfect home for my clients but the most rewarding is oftentimes building a friendship beyond the transaction. From finding a first home, to their next home together, babies & burbs- I’m there for it all!
@: How do you start each day?
I start each day with pancakes! And a workout. With four young kids, mornings are pretty chaotic! Once I have completed the morning shuffle I get in a quick workout as a spin instructor at Spynergy.
@: Describe your own first home.
Our first home purchase was a vintage 2 bed/2 bath condo in Wicker Park and our plan is to move back once all the kids are grown.
The first big ticket item I purchased in our current home was a custom-made 12-foot dining table (think Joanna Gaines!) Large enough for my crew and a few extras.
@: What is your favorite local restaurant and why? What is one amazing dish you always order/recommend?
My favorite local restaurant is Napolita in Wilmette. The pizza and gelato keep us coming back for more!
@: You have a full day free in your town with no obligations and cost is no object. What do you do?
A full free day with no obligations – Go to the beach! Wilmette has a beautiful beach steps from my front porch. There is nowhere I would rather spend a summer day than with my family
@: What is your proudest achievement?
Personally, my four kids are second to none. Although challenging at times, I can’t imagine my life without them. Professionally, starting from the ground up and forming a successful team with volume exceeding $25 million last year.
