StreetScape Development Breaks Ground on East Side of Skokie’s Floral Avenue
Mar 3rd, 2016
Phase two underway for new community of single-family homes in downtown Skokie
StreetScape Development and The Village of Skokie recently broke ground on the east side of Floral Avenue, a new single-family home community featuring 20 custom-tailored single-family homes near downtown Skokie. The east side of the development represents phase two, offering eight homes.
Located on Floral Avenue near Oakton Street and Lincoln Avenue, the community is 70-percent sold with only six lots remaining. Pricing starts at $509,000 for a three-bedroom, two-and-a-half bath residence.
A groundbreaking ceremony was held on Feb. 18 with attendees including members of The Village of Skokie (Leslie Murphy, Economic Development Specialist; Tom Thompson, Economic Development Coordinator; John Lockerby, Village Manager), StreetScape CEO and president John McLinden, @properties brokers Andrew Herrmann and Patrick McEneely, and the new homeowner.
“This is another exciting achievement for Floral Avenue. We’re thrilled about the momentum of the project and feeling energized by the community and everything that’s happening in downtown Skokie,” said McLinden.
According to Herrmann and McEneely, the homeowners – a couple from Grayslake, Ill. – took advantage of StreetScape Development’s How Do You Live custom building approach, incorporating a number of features based on their lifestyle. The home will have an open concept with 9’ ceilings on the first and second level, an expanded master bedroom, a staircase at the rear of the home and a roof deck above the attached two-car garage.
McLinden said the east side of Floral Avenue will also feature a 2,200-square-foot spec house, which will be delivered in late summer. It will have three beds, two -and-a-half baths and upscale features including KitchenAid appliances, Andersen windows, and Hardie®-board siding. Like all residences on Floral Avenue, the home will be situated on a 28-foot lot and offer customized floor plans, energy efficient features and a front porch to promote neighborly living.
Floral Avenue is just steps from unique specialty shops, grocery stores, a world-class library, numerous parks, the CTA Yellow Line and a variety of restaurants including the critically-acclaimed Libertad.
The sales center for Floral Avenue is located at 8149 Lincoln Avenue in Skokie and is open by appointment. For more information on the development, visit www.FloralAvenueSkokie.com or call (847) 867-1954.
