Lake Villa

Located approximately 50 miles northwest of Chicago, Lake Villa is a thriving community surrounded by lakes. The community was settled in the 19th century, when it served as a resort town. Lake Villa began to take shape in the 1880s thanks to E.J. Lehmann, who brought railroad service and a private resort to the area. Incorporated as a village in 1901, Lake Villa expanded after World War II, and today is home to more than 8,000 residents.

Housing styles in Lake Villa include ranches, raised ranches, Colonials and traditional homes. The 2012 average sales price for a single-family home in the Lake Villa MLS area, which also includes Lindenhurst, was $189,921, and $104,691 for a condominium (source: Midwest Real Estate Data, LLC).

Lake Villa is served by Lake Villa District 41 and Antioch School District 34. High School students attend either Lakes Community High School, which is located in Lake Villa, or nearby schools Grant Community High School and Grayslake North High School. Residents enjoy convenient transportation, with a Metra station providing direct access to and from Chicago's Union Station, and the Tri-State Tollway located just east of the village.
