Community Area: Lower West Side

Located along 18th Street between Western Avenue and Halsted, on Chicago's lower West Side, Pilsen has a diverse population that is attracted to its affordably priced housing, thriving art community and proximity to the Loop.

Infill development of condominiums and some single-family homes is in full swing in Pilsen, and large loft conversions are also becoming common throughout the community. Real estate values are on the rise as many developers consider Pilsen one of Chicago's most promising neighborhoods.
