The community of Bensenville has never met a stranger, always welcoming newcomers and long-time residents alike.
Incorporated in 1884, the northern suburb has been dubbed the “Gateway to Opportunity.” The close-knit community celebrates culture with year-round events emphasizing opportunities for enrichment and growth. Every summer, residents are treated to a free weekly concert series that features food and fun for the whole family.
The 88-acre Redmond Recreational Park houses diverse activities and hosts a wide variety of sports activities such as baseball, softball, volleyball, basketball, soccer, and hockey. The park also boasts outdoor climbing walls and ropes courses, as well as an authentic skate park. The 1.2-mile walking path is great for jogging, bike riding, or strolling along the Redmond Reservoir.
Located near O’Hare International Airport along the Milwaukee Road Railway, a number of businesses call Bensenville home, including those of the food and trucking industries.
Students attend Bensenville School District 100. Fenton High School serves Bensenville and Wood Dale. Bensenville School District 2 includes Blackhawk Middle School, Tioga School and W.A. Johnson School.
Bensenville has a station on Metra’s Milwaukee District/West Line providing daily service between Elgin and Chicago’s Union Station.
