About Franklin Park
The Village of Franklin Park is a commuter’s dream.
The Cook County village has three Metra stations with daily service to Chicago including the Belmont Avenue Station on Metra’s North Central Line to Chicago’s Union Station and Franklin Park and Mannheim stations on the Milwaukee District/West Line.
The railroad played a key part in the community when it was built in 1880. Today, the community has evolved from its rural days with more than 18,000 residents and 1,000 businesses. Industry includes trucking, aerospace manufacturing, machine production, and a pizza shop once recognized for having the “best thin crust pizza in Chicago.”
Residents enjoy 17 parks totaling 24.14 acres as well as 250 year-round programs and facilities including a year-round indoor ice arena and a practice arena, sports arena, community center, and outdoor aquatic facility with an Olympic-sized swimming pool, tube slides, and diving area.
