About Fulton River District
If Chicago’s Fulton River District were a romantic comedy, it would be called “When Residential Met Industrial.”
Originally dominated by industry, warehousing, and transportation the Fulton River District is today one of the city’s most popular sites for new high-rise and mid-rise condominiums, apartments, lofts, and even single-family homes.
With tech companies like Google setting up shop in the nearby West Loop/Fulton Market, the Fulton River District is becoming an increasingly established upscale neighborhood.
Residents enjoy life on tree-lined streets tucked just steps away from busy commercial blocks. A small but diverse selection of award-winning restaurants occupy the neighborhood, and neighbors include some of the city’s trendiest night clubs, cocktail lounges and even a few Irish pubs. If the wind blows the right way, the aroma of chocolate from nearby Blommer’s Chocolate Factory permeates the air. A huge grocery store is central to the neighborhood while new shops and boutiques emerge every day.
Commuters have convenient access to the nearby Ogilvie Transportation Center, connections to the Kennedy Expressway and the CTA Green, Pink and Blue line trains along with three bus routes.
