The Hanover Park commuter station is the fastest growing on the West Line, with hundreds of commuters bound for downtown Chicago every weekday.
The community dates back to the 19th century but its growth took off in the 1950s as farms and prairies were replaced by new homes. More than 38,000 people call Hanover Park home today.
Village residents enjoy golf courses, country clubs, recreational facilities and theaters along with entertainment in the surrounding metro area.
The community is served by several school districts including Elgin Area School District U46, the second largest school in the state behind Chicago Public Schools. Also serving the village are Township High School District 211, Glenbard Township High School District 87, Kenneyville School District 20 and Lake Park High School District 108.
