Neighborhood — Indian Creek is located in Vernon Township, 36 miles northwest of Chicago. Incorporated in 1958 as a response to the threat of annexation by neighboring Vernon Hills, Indian Creek is less than 0.3 square miles, all land, making it the smallest area of any incorporated place in Lake County.
Schools – Indian Creek is served by the Hawthorn School District, including Hawthorn Elementary Schools North and South, Hawthorn Aspen Elementary School, Hawthorn Townline Elementary School, as well as Hawthorn Middle School North and South and Vernon Hills High School. Alternative schools and private education are also available.
Housing & Lifestyle — Home to approximately 71 residences, Indian Creek is conveniently located near two colleges, nine libraries, and four museums, including the Cuneo Mansion & Gardens and Fort Hill Heritage Museum.
Commuter transportation by rail is available at the nearby Vernon Hills train station, providing daily routes to Union Station in downtown Chicago. The US-45 and I-83 are easily accessible by car.
