About Schiller Park
Schiller Park was once a destination for Chicagoans who took weekend train excursions to the area to enjoy hiking along the river, picnic grounds, dance pavilions, and saloons.
Today Schiller Park still entertains visitors and residents with its array of restaurants, recreational opportunities, and parks. The village also has a water park, recreation center, athletic fields, and a bark park for dogs. Residents also enjoy Schiller Woods, which located along the Des Plaines River Trail and is part of the Forest Preserve District of Cook County.
Commuters have access to I-294 and I-90, as well as Schiller Park’s Metra station on the North Central Service.
