About Third Lake
The Village of Third Lake is home to two lakes, plenty of parks and golf courses nearby as well.
The quiet village along the Route 45 corridor was incorporated in 1959. Sunshine Subdivision was the first in the community, platted in the 1920s.
The community has continued to grow with the addition of the Mariner’s Cove development in the 1980s and commercial development as well.
Mariner’s Cove is nestled between both Druce Lake and Third Lake, bordering the Rollins Savanna Forest Preserve. The resort-like community has 338 homes and 225 acres of fishing, boating and swimming.
The village’s lakes offer year-round enjoyment including fishing, boating, swimming and skating.
Located in central Lake County, residents have easy access to nearby entertainment and amenities including Great America Amusement Park, Gurnee Mills Shopping Center and Lake County forest preserves.
Third Lake students attend Community Consolidated School District #46; Woodland District #50 and Grayslake High School #127.
