About Paddock Lake

Located in Kenosha County, Paddock Lake is a village of over 3,000 located in southeastern Wisconsin.

Paddock Lake is named after the Paddock Family, who established roots in the area in 1838. Originally from New York, the family settled between the two lakes that are now known as Paddock and Hooker. In 1843, Dr. Francis Paddock acquired 281 acres in the area and became the first doctor in southern Wisconsin. Paddock Lake was officially named in 1855, when the Town of Brooklyn was renamed after the first family to arrive in the area. Although the village has grown over the years, it has never lost its charm.

The Village of Paddock Lake is home to a number of natural wonders, but the two crown jewels stand out as Paddock and Hooker Lakes. These two lakes provide ample recreational opportunities including fishing, boating, swimming, paddle boarding, waterskiing and tubing. The Bong Recreation Area allows residents to enjoy other activities such as horseback riding, walking and hiking trails. Nearby dining options include Siebert’s Pub and The 75th Street Inn Bar & Grill, known locally for its Friday Night Fish Fry.
