240.401.5577As an Army brat, I understand how stressful a move can be on a family - and how difficult the decision to purchase or sell a home can be because I moved ten times before I was twelve years old.
Moving to Washington DC in middle school was wonderful for me and my family. I went to high school at Holton Arms in Bethesda, took horseback riding lessons in Potomac, and sold guide books at the White House in the summers and on weekends!
I went to college at Duke University, majoring in Economics and English and joined Pi Beta Phi. I returned to DC for law school at George Washington University and worked part time at the Federal Communications Commission.
After clerking at the DC Superior Court Judge, I joined the General Counsel's Office at the Department of Energy and negotiated international agreements for the US Government. For about 15 years, I was dual career and then I "retired" to become a full time realtor and Associate Broker, licensed in DC, MD and VA.
Somewhere in there, I married and had two children and a standard poodle or two. In my spare time I love to garden, read British mysteries like Agatha Christies's Poirots and Miss Marples, and stay in touch with past clients. I have named my poodles Poirot, Arthur, and Captain after Agatha Christie characters. Travel seems to be mostly to visit my son and his boys in New York City and Conn., to Boston to visit my daughter, and to Vail CO for family time. I support the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation and Heifer International.
Licensed for more than 38 years, I am with RLAH's office in Chevy Chase. Averaging approximately 35 transactions as a solo agent, I have the time to treat each client like a special family member or new best friend, regardless of the size of the transaction. The largest sale I have ever had was over $2.5 million and the smallest was a co-op in DC that I sold for less than $25,000.
I act as both listing agent and buyer agent (although not in the same transaction) with slightly more listings than buyers. While I specialize in homes in the area inside the Beltway within DC, MD and VA I have sold homes from Frederick MD and Baltimore MD to Fredericksburg VA. My favorite clients are those going through a difficult time, such as a senior citizen selling the family home or a divorcee moving on after the final decree, who need lots of care and support - and first time home buyers who are excited but uncertain about the home buying process!
Regardless of where you want to live in the DC Metro area, I probably have sold a home there.
As a solo agent, I don't focus on the number of transactions I have each year. Instead I talk about the lives I have changed by helping each client make a good financial decision as they purchase or sell a property. The care that I show each client has resulted in much of my business being by referral from past clients and sphere.
I am very proud of the level of service that each client receives as I guarantee a stressfree and productive transaction for my clients. I look forward to speaking with you about your real estate needs! Please reach out to me at 240-401-5577 or email me at lise@lisehowe.com.
