John’s philosophy has been the same since the day he began partnering with his mother Dawn, a realtor of 30 years and a lifelong resident of Chicago.  John realizes that a successful and sustained business starts with a commitment to truly honest and ethical representation.  To that, you must add a shrewd knowledge of Chicago’s neighborhoods and micro-neighborhoods, an understanding of what adds or subtracts value in a home, and the ability to articulate that value to clients and consumers.  John’s Seller clients have learned to trust his expert approach to marketing a home for sale, and have been consistently awarded with shorter market times and higher sale prices.  For Buyers, John’s no-nonsense approach to evaluating homes, coupled with his micro-knowledge of Chicago’s neighborhoods, means his clients can expect to understand the positives (and negatives, is necessary) of each individual location.

This knowledge was first gained growing up in the Edgewater neighborhood of Chicago.  From his first jobs cutting lawns, cleaning gutters, and maintaining the hallways in his parents’ buildings, John always ran his own business.  This early entrepreneurism helped John to understand that every time someone gave him a job to do, his reputation was on the line.

Attending St. Ignatius College Preparatory for High School meant commuting for more than an hour every morning on the L and a bus.  His time at the school introduced John to kids from every neighborhood in the City, and allowed him to explore these neighborhoods as only a kid can.  John still has very strong opinions about the best place to get a Hot Dog in each neighborhood, and intimately understands the difference between a four and six block walk to the L.  The knowledge of these quality of life issues benefits John’s clients before and during a transaction, and for years afterward.

After completing his B.A. at the University of Iowa, John began his first career in politics, again in the neighborhoods of the City of Chicago.  John ran campaigns for local, state, and federal officials, and compiled a near flawless record of success.  The insights learned during his years in retail politicking help to serve his clients in Real Estate- namely, an even sharper knowledge of City neighborhoods and an understanding of how different factors (schools, traffic, public transportation, and neighborhood amenities) affect the desirability and value of different areas. John knows his clients can only make the right decision if they have all the relevant information at hand, and he believes it is his responsibility to help them understand each positive and negative.

Since the beginning of his Real Estate career, John has taken the knowledge and skills learned from a lifetime of city living and enjoyed a tremendous amount of success. He was named Rookie of the Year for his Midwest region and has built upon that success every year since. John believes that a successful career in Real Estate is built upon serving his clients needs, and providing them with sound advice and judgment before, during, and for many years after they have engaged his services.
