The hardwood component increases towards the eastern end, with a few small wet-weather drains cutting across the property. The fine sandy loam soils are excellent for growing both pine and hardwood, and are suitable for establishing pasture judging from neighboring lands. The native forests on this property have a wide assortment of species including loblolly and shortleaf pine, white oak, water oak, black oak, sweetgum, southern red oak, American elm, Florida maple, American holly and hornbeam.
