Born in Watertown, NY, MJ McFarland was raised in a family shaped by service, discipline, and adaptability. With his father serving in the U.S. Military, MJ spent his childhood living in several cities before ultimately spending much of his upbringing in Texas. Those experiences gave him an early understanding of transition, resilience, and the importance of finding a place to call home. MJ’s path to real estate was anything but conventional. A standout athlete, he earned a full scholarship to The University of Texas at Austin, where he played tight end and graduated in just three years while competing at a high level. He later advanced to the NFL, playing for the Philadelphia Eagles, New York Jets, and Dallas Cowboys. His professional football career instilled the discipline, resilience, and composure under pressure that continues to define his business approach today. Today, MJ serves as a Broker Associate and Principal at Christie's International Real Estate, where he has closed more than $350 million in real estate transactions, with a distinct emphasis on luxury properties and new development. Known for his relationship-driven approach and disciplined execution, MJ is a trusted advisor to luxury builders, developers, professional athletes, and high-profile clients, particularly within the sports and entertainment industries. His expertise centers around market positioning, negotiation strategy, and delivering exceptional results with discretion and care. In addition to his real estate career, MJ co-founded Player's Reach, a foundation focused on empowering Austin youth through education and life-skills programming. Outside of business, MJ is a dedicated husband and father. He and his wife Whitney met while attending the University of Texas at Austin, where Whitney was a collegiate soccer player. Together, they are raising their two daughters, grounding MJ’s work in a deep appreciation for family, legacy, and the importance of home.
