Fluent in French, Kara coordinated and executed high-visibility visits for senior foreign military officers and high-ranking government officials while with the U.S. Department of Defense. A consummate professional, Kara has successfully leveraged her background in diplomacy and protocol with her detail-oriented organizational skills to rank in the top producing 10% of her company. She closed over $9.4 million in gross sales volume and was awarded ‘Rookie of the Year' in her first year as a full-time real estate agent. Kara sold a total of 25 properties and over $12.5 million in sales in 2014 and ranked in the top 10 individual agents for the entire Keller Williams Maryland/DC region. In 2020, at the height of the pandemic, she sold nearly $16M in sales volume. She is also consistently recognized as a Top-Producing Agent in Washingtonian Magazine's "Best of Washington" issue annually since 2015 and was named one of the Best 100 agents in 2021. She has served on her company's Agent Leadership Council, similar to a Board of Directors, participating in attaining the goals of the market center and continues to mentor new agents. She also joined the Board of the local nonprofit organization, DC WISE, in 2024.
A third-generation native Washingtonian, Kara grew up in upper Northwest DC in North Cleveland Park, lived in Georgetown for 9 years, and currently resides in a converted church condo in Columbia Heights. After graduating with a BA degree from the College of Charleston, Kara lived in Paris for several years where she received a Master's degree in French from New York University's Paris campus. Kara has worked with many international, World Bank/IMF, US Foreign Service, DC area locals, and DC transplant clients in her role as a real estate professional and has developed a large and loyal client base. Kara takes pride in the level of care and attention she dedicates to each client. She is truly passionate about what she does. In her free time, she enjoys interior design & home renovations, the beach, hiking, yoga, Zumba, international travel, and playing with her doggy friends. She's also licensed in Delaware and owns a beach house in Rehoboth Beach, DE.
