Brief History:  The Swedish immigration to Chicago began with a trickle in 1845 but by 1930 1 out 5 Swedish born adults lived in the United States and 65,735 lived in Chicago dominating Lake View, Andersonville and North Park. By then the large cherry orchard at Foster and Clark had given way to the suburb of Andersonville.  These lively communities organized their social lives around worship and music, so their churches became the hub of daily life.  One such church was The Swedish Methodist Episcopal Church at 6350 N. Paulina with the parsonage at 6352 N. Paulina.  Today, the legacy of this home is of laughter and music which is amplified by the current owner’s passion and collection of antique player pianos.
