What makes working with Joe special?
Joe matches people with properties. His background uniquely qualifies him to represent buyers and sellers in real estate transactions to effectively analyze real property values, to be alert for construction and environmental issues, to be a strong negotiator, and to help resolve problems that come up during the transaction.
Joe grew up in a construction family and helped build a variety of buildings including single-family homes and multi-story buildings. He was born in San Diego, California, but lived some early years in Anchorage, Alaska - where one of his brothers and his sister were born. The family returned to San Diego and he attended the University of San Diego High School, then one year of college at the University of San Diego. His family returned to Anchorage and he continued his undergraduate education at Alaska Methodist University. Joe started in construction at an early age and worked through his undergraduate years at Alaska Methodist University. Working in construction helped pay for law school at the University of Willamette College of Law in Salem, Oregon.
Returning again to Anchorage, Joe began his legal career at Hughes, Thorsness, Gantz, Powell & Brundin, the largest law firm in Alaska. He became a member of the firm and remained with it for 22 ½ years. He moved to Tacoma, Washington for 4 yeas where he continued to practice law. In his legal career spanning 30 years, Joe enjoyed a litigation and appellate practice representing clients on a variety of legal issues including real estate transactions, construction disputes, environmental cases, and misrepresentation in real estate transactions.
Moving to Chicago in 2008 with his wife, Evelina, became a time for reflection and Joe made a decision to change his career to real estate. He has spent the past six years as a licensed realtor helping people find, negotiate and buy and sell real property. Looking for real estate should be fun and exciting. Yes, there are a lot of things to worry about, but Joe has always enjoyed the analysis, the consultation, the marketing, the negotiation, and the closing. He knows what the buying and selling experience is like for both homeowners and investors as he has bought, owned and sold single-family homes, condos, and multi-family buildings.
Joe’s mission is to help people buy and sell real estate.
Whether working with a buyer or a seller, the first step is the consultation, in which he listens to clients so that he can help them realize their goals.
