With over 25 years experience in finance and real estate, John Mawicke is uniquely positioned to meet the needs of clients seeking to understand the current housing market prior to buying or selling a home. Born and raised in Chicago, he was first licensed as a realtor in Illinois in 1988. Since then, John has been assisting with the family real estate business—recently transitioning to fulltime broker with The Mawicke Group.

Before concentrating on real estate, John’s successful career in Institutional Sales and Trading and Investment Management included long stints at such prestigious firms as Merrill Lynch, Citigroup, and Morgan Stanley. During this time he lived in New York, Frankfurt, London, and Hong Kong. While his global travelers took him far and wide, since as early as the mid-1990s, John has been investing in property in Chicago and the North Shore. As such, he knows firsthand how to achieve long-term appreciation through real estate in Chicagoland’s diverse markets. Such comprehensive understanding of real estate markets—from Lake Forest to downtown Chicago—makes him an invaluable asset during negotiations and when pricing a seller’s home correctly.

John’s comparative market analysis is critical to getting homes sold quickly, and at the best price. He understands the value real estate can play in any client’s financial portfolio, expertly managing each transaction from the moment a property is listed to the date it closes. His return back to Chicago is a testament to his belief that this city and the surrounding suburbs are a place you want to call home.

John graduated from Loyola Academy, Santa Clara University with a B.A. in Economics and the London Business School with a Masters in Finance. He resides in Kenilworth with his wife Jane, two daughters, and one son.
