Mclean

McLean, Virginia is a stunning community located between the Potomac River and the charming town of Vienna. Known for its luxury homes and its close proximity to Washington, D.C., it is a popular destination for diplomats, high-ranking government officials, and businessmen. The area is also renowned for its historic significance, including the former homes of Ethel Kennedy and Revolutionary War hero, Light-Horse Harry Lee.

Named after John Roll McLean, the former owner and publisher of The Washington Post, McLean boasts a rich history. In 1902, McLean and Stephen Benton Elkins purchased the charter for the Great Falls and Old Dominion Railroad. This crucial connection to Washington, D.C. was completed in 1906, and helped to establish McLean as a prosperous and desirable location.

The community itself was founded in 1910, after the merging of the towns of Lewinsville and Langley. Today, McLean is also recognized for its upscale shopping destinations, including the Tyson's Corner Center and the Tyson's Galleria. In fact, the two McLean zip codes - 22101 and 22102 - are among the most expensive in Virginia and the United States. McLean truly offers a luxurious and desirable lifestyle for its residents.
