After earning an A.B. in economics from Dartmouth College and an MBA in finance and marketing from the University of Chicago, I spent 30 years advising banks and corporations on the purchase and sale/leaseback of property, ranging from office buildings to locomotives and jumbo jets.
On the sell-side, success as an investment banker meant finding qualified buyers that were willing and able to pay full market price at attractive lease rates. On the buy-side, it meant finding and making winning bids for property that met clients’ budgets and investment objectives. Doing so also required careful pricing analysis, thorough due-diligence, and detailed marketing strategies, all based on a deep knowledge of each market and its participants.
Having closed transactions totaling more than $5 billion in purchase price and logging over 4 million air miles, my wife and I decided it was time for me to “get off the road” and work in a local rather than international market. With this as my goal, in 2012 we returned full-time to our favorite place in the world, Chicago and the Lake Michigan shoreline, to enter the residential real estate market with the Chicago area's largest and fastest growing real estate brokerage, @properties.
I started my real estate career working with clients buying and selling condos and townhouses in Hyde Park, the South Loop and the Near West Side. In 2014, I joined the Will Schauble Group, based in @properties' Harbor Country office, where I work with buyers and sellers of Lakeshore and Country properties in Michigan and NorthWest Indiana, as well as assisting clients with their Chicago real estate needs. I am licensed in Michigan, Indiana, and Illinois.
In my spare time, I enjoy the active classical and jazz music scene in Chicago and the Lakeshore Region, as well as singing in my church choir. I also serve on the board of our Chicago apartment building’s garage corporation.
